Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “ground.” Use it as a noun or a verb in any tense (i.e. grind). Have fun!

Today for SOCS, Linda G. Hill, has given us the prompt word – ground. Thanks, Linda!

I’ve been trying to think of something wonderful and interesting to say about ‘ground’. Not much is coming to me … except … song snippets of which I’ve kept being silly and making up new lyrics. Really lame. Here’s a few:

To the tune of the Beach Boys “I Get Around”  = ‘ground, ground, ground, ground I get aground’

And now, wouldn’t you know it, I can’t remember the other ones I was thinking about earlier.

There was a girl I knew many years ago, and I didn’t like the way she said the word ‘ground’. She pronounced it ‘gurr ound’ with two syllables.

Oh, some people say ground beef, or ground round, but we just call it hamburger meat.

I heard there were some actors who got their show business start in a group called the ‘groundlings’. I have no idea what that was, but I think some of them went on to be part of the early Saturday Night Live cast.

And now, I’m just trying to think of something else to add, but I can’t, so I’ll just end it here.

Have a fun weekend!

    • Thanks, Janet!
I’m always looking up at the stars & moon, but definitely have to be careful of where I’m stepping on the uneven ground.
      Happy Saturday & weekend. 🙂

  1. I hear you, “ground” was a bit of a stretch for me, too. Don’t think it made it into my post until the last paragraph! I think this one is a win. 🙂

    • I could only think of a few things for ‘ground’, and I liked how you talked about spices. It didn’t even occur to me, but it was fun reading all the comments you got for yours. 🙂
