Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Couch
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “couch” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!
Today’s SOCS prompt word is ‘couch’. Thanks, Linda!
I don’t know much about couches.
I remember when I was a kid, we had one that had wooden arms, and then later an early American style brown one. That one lasted a long time, because my mom would re-cover it from time to time. Later on they got a plush velveteen type fabric kind.
Our own couches, well there’s only a couple I remember. The first was a hand-me-down from my cousin. We had no furniture, so my uncle hauled their old one down to us. It was huge, plush fabric, and light green. I don’t know what ever happened to it.
We moved around a lot, and most of these places were already furnished, so we just had whatever was in the house at that time.
Right now we have a ratty old couch, brown/tan/black plaid or something. It’s always covered up with a bedspread of one kind or another.
This old couch is probably 30 years old. It is worn out, and parts are missing because the cats clawed parts of it.
We do have a smaller couch in the living room, but it is just as worn out and raggedy. It was my daughter’s, and when she moved, she didn’t want it. It folds out into a padded thing on the floor. It is the cat’s couch, and always has been.
I won’t show a picture of either one. haha!
Here’s a picture of a nice one that is in my aunt’s house. She has nice furniture.
Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️
