For today’s SLS, Jim Adams, of “A Unique Title For Me”, has asked for songs from TV shows. Thanks, Jim!

You can find Jim’s blog at the above link, and also find out how to join in this weekly fun musical challenge. 🙂

There are so many good theme songs for TV shows! Most all are memorable if we were a fan of the shows, as we heard them every time the show was aired. Most were also easy to sing along to.

This one I chose today, is from the TV show, “Roswell”. It’s one of my favorite shows. It ran from 1999 to 2002. I bought all three seasons of the DVDs, and have watched them many times.

The story is set in modern times in Roswell, New Mexico. It’s focus is the teenagers in high school, and the ups and downs of their relationships with boyfriends and girlfriends.

However, three new students in their high school are a bit different. They are aliens from another planet. They look normal, but have things about them that make people wonder what and who they really are. They are friends with a few other regular students, and let them know their secret. A lot of the episodes are of them figuring out how to evade the government, and scientists who suspect them of being aliens, but want to do experiments, if they ever catch them.

There is a lot of drama, and also a lot of humor in these stories. I love everything about this TV series.  Hope you can watch it one day. 🙂

The theme song for all three seasons is, “Here With Me”, by Dido. It is a haunting kind of tune, especially paired with the theme of the TV show.

I didn’t hear you leave
I wonder how am I still here
I don’t want to move a thing
It might change my memory

Oh I am what I am
I’ll do what I want, but I can’t hide
I won’t go, I won’t sleep
I can’t breathe, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t leave, I can’t hide
I cannot be, until you’re resting here with me
I don’t want to call my friends
They might wake me from this dream
And I can’t leave this bed
Risk forgetting all that’s been

Oh I am what I am

I’ll do what I want, but I can’t hide
I won’t go, I won’t sleep

I can’t breathe, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t leave, I can’t hide

I won’t go, I won’t sleep
I can’t breathe, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t leave, I can’t hide
I cannot be, until you’re resting here with me
Oh I am what I am
I’ll do what I want, but I can’t hide
I won’t go, I won’t sleep
I can’t breathe, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t leave, I can’t hide
I cannot be, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t leave, I can’t hide
I cannot be, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t go, I won’t sleep
I can’t breathe, until you’re resting here with me
I won’t leave, I can’t hide
I cannot be, until you’re resting here with me

    • Thanks, Janet! I think I read that Dido wrote this song about her boyfriend, or ex boyfriend or something like that. Anyway, it goes really good for the TV show. I’m glad they chose it. 🙂

  1. I like that song and I recognized several of the people from the show, who look much younger there. They’ve gone on to making movies. Have added the series to my “L list” to see if library can get them.

    • Thanks, Li!
Yes! There are quite a few actors in this TV show that went on to make more TV shows, and movies. My daughter and I always let each other know when we’ve spotted a ‘Roswellian’ actor on something else. haha! 🙂 Hope you can find them to watch sometime.

  2. I never watched the original, but my sister’s been trying to coax me into watching the resurrection on the CW called “Roswell, New Mexico” because we know almost all of the actors from other shows that have ended. Anyway, thought I’d leave you a link in case you’re interested & thanks for the share, I haven’t heard this song in many, many years! 😀

    • Thanks so much, A. C.!
I love the clip of the new Roswell! I didn’t know they had updated the show, and now I really want to see it. It will be odd to see other actors in the roles, since being so familiar with the originals. Glad you liked the song…it’s a good one and fits the show pretty well, I think. I wonder if the new one starts at the beginning like the first series. Well, I’ll just have to watch. There are actually a series of YA books of this, too. 🙂

      • You’re welcome! I plan to give the show a try, myself, when I have the time. Books first, that doesn’t surprise me! Especially from the new writers/producers of the Roswell show, she got all of her famous series from L.J. Smith’s YA books. (The Vampire Diaries, Secret Circle, etc.)

      • I checked our listings for the CW channel, and couldn’t find the new Roswell listed. I was hoping it would be on there. Maybe I’ll run across it someday, though. Thanks again, A. C. 🙂
