July Squares # 13 – Blue – Chicken Cookie Jar

July Squares # 13 – Blue – Chicken Cookie Jar

Reflective Blues

This is a month of blue! It’s a fun challenge created by Becky of “The Life of B”, and each day we show something blue. The only rule beside blue, is that the photo MUST be SQUARE!

As an added bonus, I’ve found songs with blue in the title or lyrics. 🙂

Thanks, Becky!

We went to an antique store the other day, where I saw this big ceramic chicken cookie jar. It’s a white chicken (yellow beak/red comb), and has draped over her head and back is a blue and white shawl. Pretty cute!

“Devil With a Blue Dress On – Good Golly Miss Molly”, by Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, was released from their album, “Breakout”, in 1966. It was written by Fredrick Long and William Stevenson, and is on the New Voice label.

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

  1. I like the chicken. Although I am not in favour of cookie jars (cookies simply seem to evaporate around my house – unexplicably their weight seems to settle around my midriff).

    • Thanks!
I know what you mean about cookies evaporating! They wouldn’t have time to stay in a cookie jar around here.
Some people do collect interesting cookie jars, and there are so many cute ones. But they are pretty large ceramics and you’d need a lot of space. I collect salt & pepper shakers, but they are just little ones. 🙂

  2. That chicken is adorable! I love it!! Did you buy it? Or are you like me, I just admire and wonder what it would’ve looked like in my home, and then happily move along without buying it?! Great song choice too!

    • Thanks, Shelley!
It is pretty cute! No, I didn’t buy it, just took it’s picture. We don’t have much counter space, so wouldn’t have anywhere to put the chicken. Glad you liked it, and the song, too. 🙂

    • Thanks, Brian!
I like chickens, too. There’s just something fun about those silly birds. Novelty cookie jars, and salt & pepper shakers are great for collectors, too. 🙂
