Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Leaves
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “leaves.” Use it as a noun or a verb. Have fun!
For SOCS, we have the prompt word, ‘leaves’. Several ways you can go with this word. Linda G. Hill, our hostess, gives us fun prompts every week. To join in and also see other entries, just click the above link. It’s fun!
Well, this is SOCS, so here goes…
Leaves, yes there are leaves on the trees, and sometimes they are green like now for summer, but I like the orange and yellow and red leaves of autumn more. We have one tree in our yard, the front yard. It is a fruitless mulberry and is pretty large. It has probably a jillion leaves. The best is when they all turn yellow, and drift slowly down to the ground, making a crunchy carpet of yellow. Some years they fall here and there, but a few times, we’ve had a hard freeze, and the leaves just all come down at once, whomp! So weird.
Now, I want to talk about table leaves. Table leaves? Table leafs?
There are some kitchen or dining room tables that have extra inserts you can add, to make the table larger. You pull apart the two sides leaving a gap. That’s where you put the extra wood piece, and we always called it the table leaf. Or leaves, if you have more than one insert. Do they even make tables like that anymore? Our table here does not do that. It has no leaves.
And now, I will take my leave, and wish y’all a happy Saturday! 🙂
Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️
