Glow-in-the-Dark – Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Fab

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS April 6/19

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “fab.” Use it as a word or find a word beginning with “fab.” As always, use any way you’d like. Have fun!

How Fab! Linda G. Hill, our hostess for SOCS, has given us this for our prompt today. Thanks, LInda! 🙂

So, you might be wondering what my photo is all about?

I’m pretty sure I cut it out of a cardboard package of the laundry detergent called Fab.

It’s a cool word, and I still use this word a lot, when I’m liking something and think it’s fabulous.

Well, anyway… I glued this cardboard cutout into one of my old scrapbooks way back in 1968.

What is that odd looking stuff on the letters, you might ask?

That is glow in the dark paint!

See, me and my now husband would go out to fun places around town, and one of those places was called OZ. It was over by the college, and was a cool and fab place. We’d sit on big pillows, be served coffee or tea or cokes, while listening to poetry readings, or someone singing and playing the guitar.

OZ was dark inside, using only black-lights, and everyone was given glow in the dark paints to paint whatever…mostly on ourselves. That was fun. I have a small mirror with the paint on it around here somewhere, too.

We went to OZ a lot of times, but then it turned into an Italian food restaurant. Can’t remember the name of it, but we went there, too. It had wine bottles with candles stuck in the top, so the wax drippings would flow down in multi-colored formations. I actually made a few of these at home, too.

Fab is a fab word, and I wish y’all a fab Saturday!

  1. I love those wine-bottle candle holders. Kevin’s cousin bought us a bottle of Chianti so we could have one…the wine was not great, but the bottle looks great in our dining room!
