Word Crimes

e Right to Remain Silent

The world tongue-twister champion just got arrested. I hear they’re gonna give him a really tough sentence.

Tough Sentencing

Did you hear about the semi-colon that broke the law? He was given two consecutive sentences.

“Word Crimes”, by Weird Al Yankovic, was released from the album, “Mandatory Fun”, in 2013. It was written by, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Pharrell Williams, Robin Thicke, Clifford Harris Jr., and Marvin Gaye. It is on the RCA label.

    • Thanks! I don’t usually have trouble with ping backs, but sometimes they don’t work. Depends on how the other blog has set up their blog, I think. If I find it didn’t go through, I just add my link to a comment on theirs. 🙂

  1. Although probably not my absolute favorite Al song, Word Crimes is almost definitely Weird Al’s most brilliant work. Blurred Lines is not a song that’s easy to parody and have come out still sounding just like the original. It also cracks me up that because Blurred Lines itself sampled from a Marvin Gaye song, that the writing credits for the parody have to account for essentially three different sets of songwriters!
