Your prompt for JusJoJan 2019, January 3rd, is your blog. Why did you start blogging? How did you come up with your theme, if you have one? How has it changed your life? Tell us about your blog in your jot! Enjoy!

I started blogging on Blog Spot in 2013. I wanted to write about all kinds of things, first about my true experience ghost stories, and second to post my fan fiction story, “Two Souls: Into the Fire”. I spent a very long time writing it (over a year if not more), and I’m proud of the fact that I did it, and finished it.

I also wrote a bunch of essays on several different subjects. Then I discovered the A to Z Blog Challenge, which I completed there.

However, almost nobody saw or read any of this. There was maybe 3 people ever. One very helpful blogger did suggest I move over to Word Press, which I did. I’m so happy I did, as I’ve found WP to be full of wonderful, friendly, and helpful bloggers from all over the world. I appreciate each and every one of you who have stopped by to like, and comment over the years.

Now here’s how my almost first post went over there.

Seems to me everyone uses really cool sounding names for their online personalities and blogs. I always want to know why they chose it…what does it mean…is it supposed be a secret…a special code?  Hardly anyone will say why.  I won’t keep y’all in suspense.  This is “why” I chose mine and what they mean to me:

First, my online name…ghostmmnc…this is in reference to my favorite character in my favorite book “Lost Souls” by Poppy Z. Brite.

Second, my blog name and statement..teleportingweena, and why I chose this.

Teleport according to the dictionary is to move without physical contact either by mystical means or by conversion of matter or energy for transmission.
That is what I am doing by sending my thoughts out into the ether when I push publish on my blog posts. Transmitting them this way is very mystical to me, because I have no idea how it works.

Weena was one of our cats. Actually Rowena, but we called her Weena most of the time.  I believe she actually teleported herself once right here in the house!

Time machine…a hypothetical device that permits travel into the past and future.  Also the subject of one of my favorite books & movies “The Time Machine” by H.G. Wells. The female character in both was named Weena!

Weena (Rest In Peace)

Weena’s Story

First, the name of this blog… ‘teleportingweena’… Weena (Rowena) was our tabby cat. I think she teleported herself, somehow. I don’t know where she went, but she was gone. She was an indoor cat, never outside, so there wasn’t any way she got lost out there. She was in the bedroom (the one with the levitating mirror), when we saw her last. She has her hiding places, here in the house, and we searched everywhere. She’d been gone for hours. We tore the house apart calling and looking for her, but she was gone. In despair of ever finding her again, she suddenly appeared…right in the spot we last saw her. There was no noise of her coming back, no sound of her scrabbling out of an overlooked hiding spot…she just materialized right there in the bedroom. She wasn’t frightened, or anything…she was just sitting there. Of course we made a fuss over her, and all was back to normal. But, where was she? What did she see? I wish we knew.

I’ve only changed the look of this blog once. The first WP theme I used was pink & black! Can you imagine? It was good, but I got tired of it. I like how it looks now, with the sky blue, which is one of my favorite colors.

I still blog about the the same things off and on… my fan fiction story, strange and weird things that happen, short stories & poems, essays, and challenges. After 6 years of blogging, I still love it.

So there you have it.
Welcome to my Blog!

  1. Interesting names, none of which are really yours. I have been enjoying reading the reprinting of your “Two Souls” story. I had caught the tail end of it last year and now have been reading from the beginning.

    • Thank you! I’m so happy you’re enjoying the story. It means a lot to me that you do. 🙂
Yes, it took me a little while to come up with the names, after trying (on paper) a bunch of different ones.
