Time again for new questions from Melanie for SYW, and answers from me!

Find out how to join in the fun…click the link above!

Name two books that have influenced you and share how.  (Credit for this question goes to Teresa of The Haunted Wordsmith.   She asked for TEN books, in her challenge, so the SYW folks got off a bit easy..)

I read so many books of all kinds, it’s super hard to pick just 2, and I don’t know how much any one of them would have influenced me other than I liked it or not. Except for this one. I write my fan fiction story, “Two Souls: Into the Fire”, based on this novel, so you could say it motivated me to continue the story in my own way.

In your opinion, where is the line between art and not art?

Hmmm…hard to say, as anyone can create something and call it art. Whether it is just for your own enjoyment, or for a world wide audience, it’s still art. Some things I’ve seen I might not like it, but other people would. It’s all a matter of perception.

Trivia for Halloween:   What item is banned only during Halloween from 12am October 31st to 12pm November 1st in Hollywood California?   (I know the answer, but I do not have any idea WHY)..c’mon…hazard a guess!

Registered sex offenders are banned from taking part in Halloween activities during this time in our city, so maybe that’s the same in California?

***note***someone already guessed the answer and it wasn’t my guess, but I’m leaving mine, because it’s pretty important, in my opinion.

What is something that really annoys you but doesn’t bother most people?

Too much noise in a restaurant. Sometimes there are so many people in there talking, that it just becomes a dull roar. It’s a bother to my ears, and I can’t enjoy my meal. Music playing is just fine, though.

Instead of our usual gratitude question, I’m posing this one for this week:

What or who in your life brings you the most joy?

The usual, family and pets.

Wishing y’all a happy and interesting week! 🙂

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

  1. Thanks for Sharing Your World with us! 😀 And your answer to the banned activity? I’d say that’s important. Here (in rural Utah) they host a ‘trunk or treat’ activity where everyone meets in a designated spot (a parking lot at the church or local school) and the parents take the kids around to treat or treat the cars. It’s safer I guess, but in my day (when that pedophile thing wasn’t so well known about) treat or treating was more fun I think.

    • Thanks, Melanie! Good questions you chose for us to answer.
I’ve heard of the trunk or treat, but I’m not sure they have that here. Trick or treating was so much fun when I was a kid, and nobody was scared of anything but the spooky kid’s costumes. Sad that some awful people have made it dangerous now.

  2. Parents are more worried about pedophiles than speeding cars, which is so nutty, but whatever. It’s just our weird American obsession with anything sexual again. People need to look up the stats on the things that actually harm kids: pools, cars, drugs, etc. Not that you should leave your kid with a creepy uncle of course.

Maybe Hollywood bans cars! That would be awesome.

  3. I wonder how many of the offenders obey that rule any better than they do the rule of “keep your hands (and other parts!) to yourself”?

The noise in restaurants bothers me, too. Some of them have a zillion televisions on, all on different channels, just loud enough to be annoying but not loud enough to hear what is going on. Turn ’em off already! The dishes clanging around and folks chattering is way plenty enough noise.

Have a blessed night, Barbara. 🙂
