Linda has given us the prompt word, ‘precious’ to write about today. Thanks, Linda!
I encourage everyone to join in this weekly writing fest…we can be a serious or as silly as we want to. It’s fun to write and fun to read what other people write. Click the above link to find out details.

What’s to say about the word precious? I don’t know. It’s a word I pretty much never say for anything. Guess it’s just too precious for words.
We used to live near a person who had a dog named Precious. We didn’t know her, or the dog. Can’t say I ever even saw the dog, but we could hear her calling loud and clear quite often, “Precious! Precious!” It always made us laugh.
Let’s see what other little words I can make out of precious:
sip, price, sup, pus, rice, spice, our, crop, pious, pose, pore, sop, ice, spire, cipro,
yeah, that’s all…
the pus in our pore was cleared up with cipro and ice, so we struck a pious pose, and paid the price to sup on a crop of rice. We sopped it up, that spice of life, and sipped some nice rice wine then climbed to the top of the church spire.
And…that is probably the silliest thing I’ve ever wrote! haha
So, farewell until next time on this stream of consciousness playground.

Have a fun weekend!

I laughed at your silly paragraph. Ingenious. I think when I use the word precious, it’s usually with a sarcastic tone – “isn’t that just too precious?”
Thanks, Carol!
Glad you got a giggle from this! I agree that if we ever do use the word precious, it would be said sarcastically as you said.
I keep thinking of that Saturday Night Live skit of Dana Carvey as the Church Lady, saying “Isn’t that special”. That’s another word we don’t use much here, I guess because of that, too. 🙂
I don’t use precious that much either. Maybe there is nothing I care enough about to call it precious? I keep thinking of people who look at babies or animals and say they are precious.
Thanks, Janet!
Lots of things are precious, like you say, animals & babies, but we never say it much around here. Seems too fancy a word, and we’d more likely say cute, adorable, or sweet. 🙂
Yes, the word precious does seem fancy doesn’t it?
🙂 🙂
I’m getting the sense that none of us uses “precious” very often…
Thanks, John!
From reading a lot of the responses to the word precious, I get the same sense. At least around here, I never hear people saying it much. 🙂
I love what you’ve done with your list of words. very good.
Thanks so much, Hester!
It was fun to find extra words, and put them together somehow. Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Now that’s precious (or fleek, if you are also doing the RagTag Daily word prompt…)!
Thanks, Emily!
I haven’t done the RTD prompts in awhile, so had to look up the word fleek! Interesting, and a word I’ve never heard before. 🙂
Your post is definitely more creative than mine. Very entertaining 👍
Thanks, Bee!
I really liked seeing the clip of the Gollum from LOTR that you posted. It had been a long time since I’d seen the movies, and weirdly, he is my favorite character. I guess because he is so creepy! 🙂
I bet there aren’t many who like Gollum. I always pittied him because he got caught in something he wasn’t able to fight. But he refeemed himself in the end. They show the films here on TV. Might catch the end of Two Towers… 🙋
I’m the same, kinda felt sorry for him. I am amazed at how they did the animation, or whatever it is they do.
That’s seriously a strange word trail, but you DID do it! Haha!
My neighbor’s cat is Lucifer. She calls for Lucifer. LOL
Thanks, Joey!
That’s too funny – Lucifer the cat! 🙂
My brother used to have this GIANT, aggressive, male Rottweiler named Precious
haha That’s a good one, Jami! Makes you wonder what people were thinking with the naming of their pets. Could be when he was a puppy, he was actually Precious? 🙂
😂
