Here’s a couple of oldie country songs I remember well. My husband used to listen to these all the time, as he’s a big fan of country music, especially the old time country. I like a lot of country music, but it’s not my favorite genre. These two do seem to stay around in my memory of hearing them, though, and I do like them.

“Rose Colored Glasses”, by John Conlee, was released as a single from the album of the same name in 1978. It was written by John Conlee and George Baber, and is on the ABC label.

That will settle my brain it’s my first one today
There stands the glass that will hide all my tears
That will drown all my fear, brother I’m on my way
I’m wondering if you are all right
I wonder if you think of me in my misery
Til my troubles grow dim, it’s my first one today
I’m wondering if you are all right
I wonder if you think of me in my misery
Til my troubles grow dim, it’s my first one today
These I do not know.
They are from way back when…hope you enjoyed hearing them. 🙂
Rose Colored Glasses is a favorite. The other is new to me but good too. Thanks for sharing 😊
That ones always been a favorite country song to me, too. I’m not super crazy about country music, but some just seem to be memorable. 🙂
We are similar. Country is my 2nd least favorite of all the genres but when I do listen, I prefer old school.
Yes! I don’t know when or why it happened, but the country music of today just isn’t the same. So many good ones from way back. 🙂
I enjoy the older country musicians as well. They aren’t my all-time favorite, but if I have to listen to country, it’s the older generation for me!

Same here…I like some of the older ones, and some of the newer ones. I think they’ve gotten away from the traditional form, and most now are more pop sounding. 🙂
There’s just something about that old-time country sound. I actually liked the second one better. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks, Helen! Country music sure has changed over the years. 🙂
Yes it has! 😉
