Cee is on vacation, so for today’s SYW we have questions from Melanie, who can be found at her fun blog, sparksfromacombustiblemind.

The questions:

Have you ever been in a food fight?

How do you deliver bad news?

What (if anything) do you think is beyond the stars?

What “redneck” (unsophisticated) activity do you like to do?

Is there a scary scene from a movie (or book) you viewed a child that still haunts you?

Last (rock trivia courtesy of Glyn), which true to form I won’t answer.  I wanna see if anyone (besides Glyn) knows the answer:

Seal’s ‘Kiss From A Rose’ was the theme from which film?

My answers:

Have I ever been in a food fight? Not that I remember…however…I probably look like I have been every time I get finished with a meal. That’s because I’m so messy. I don’t mean to be, but between drips, spills, and crumbs, and despite using bunches of napkins, you might think I’ve been in a food fight.

~

I don’t like giving bad news to anyone, but have a few times. It’s hard to know what or how to say things like that.

~

What’s beyond the stars? More stars and space, more planets yet discovered, aliens, other worlds, other living things…

~

“Redneck” activities? Our whole life is probably considered ‘redneck’. We’ve always lived in the south, are hardworking people who aren’t afraid of getting our hands dirty at our jobs, and that might even be working out in the hot Texas sun, where your neck gets red and sunburned. Honest people, who live simply, and loyally stick up for our own. Yes, we have a unique way of speaking, and quirky ways of doing things, which others may think are silly or strange, but that’s just the way we are.

~

A scary scene from a movie or a scary book? I love scary movies and books, so not much bothers me. The scenes that affected me the most, were from real life. Fish jumping out of their bowl haunts me to this day with nightmares and a fish phobia, and the F5 tornado I was in I still get nightmares about.

~

I love that song, “Kiss From a Rose”, by Seal, but I haven’t a clue it was in a movie. We don’t go to or watch many movies.

  1. That Seal song is in Batman Forever! 😛
I’m messy like you when I eat. Ugh.
Rednecks are like any other group of people, there are nice as pie ones, same as any other group. This last weekend, some rednecks helped us when the bridge was out and the detour led us astray.
My husband literally has a red neck, but not a literal jar head 😉

    • Ahh, the Batman movies. Can’t say I’ve seen any, but used to watch the old TV show.
I laugh and say I need a bib when I eat, but truly I do! I cover my front & lap with napkins, and still will drop something on any uncovered spot!
That’s great you had some help with the detour.
Funny how labels are used to define a group of people, when everyone is really their own individual. Red necks…jar heads…and many more maybe meant to be an insult or slur, but most are just jokingly said, and funny, at least to me. 🙂

      • Agreed, people need to get out their senses of humor and shake em out and try em on from time to time! 😛
I am so messy. So. I was so proud to not get coffee or SOUP on my white blouse today and came home and spilled tea on it. Ugh.

      • A sense of humor is one of the best qualities a person can have, for sure.
Isn’t that how it goes…go all day without a spill, and then last minute there it is. With me it’s inevitable. 🙂
