Friendly Fill-Ins

Friendly Fill-Ins

The questions:

1. When it is hot, I _________.
2. I am looking forward to _________ this month.
3. The theme song of my life would be _________.
4. There is no such thing as _________.
My answers:
  1. When it is hot, which it definitely is in the summer here, I mostly stay inside the house with the A/C going.
  2. What am I looking forward to this month? More of the same, doing whatever I want, and hoping for more rain showers to cool things off. Nothing spectacular coming up as far as I know.
  3. The theme song of my life? I have no idea. I like all music, so every day would be a different theme, but I’ve included a video below that really speaks to me in all kinds of ways.
  4. There’s no such thing as …? There probably are such things somewhere. If it can be thought of, there’s a strong possibility that someone has figured out a way to make it happen, whether writing about it, doing it, or building/cooking/exploring/inventing it.

“Across the Universe”, by the Beatles, was released from their album, “No One’s Gonna Change Our World”, in 1969. It was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and is on the Regal Starline label.

  1. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I like your song choice. I stay inside with the a/c in the summer too. Have a nice weekend!

    • You’re welcome! Fun questions as always, and I enjoy answering them. Glad you enjoyed the song.
Yes, we are thankful for air conditioning in the summer around here, too.
Have a fun rest of the weekend! 🙂

  2. Howdy, Barbara. Are you getting any of the rain like we’ve been getting off and on all week? We were down in the mid-70s the other day. That felt wonderful!

I don’t think I’ve ever heard that Beatles song before. One of my favorite ones is Imagine. It is a controversial song in some circles, but I love the softness of it. You know, it is gentle listening versus “bang your head” music. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend.

    • Hey, how’s it going? What a wonderful temperature break for y’all here in the middle of summer! We’ve had off and on showers, which sure help after so many days of 100 or over!
I really like the Imagine song, too. It just sounds so peaceful.
Nothing going on here, just a lazy day. Hope your day has been just the way you wanted. 🙂

      • It’s going okay here. Just another lazy day in paradise. 🙂

Oh yes, that was a great temperature break. It was in the 80s today and felt fine, too. Not too hot at all. I was able to go to Walmart today without totally melting and that is always a plus. I hope you’ll get some really cool days soon.
Have a blessed night and Sunday, Barbara. 🙂

      • Thanks, Suzanne! It has been a little cooler all week, and I think for the next few days, at least. Here it is Monday already, so I will wish you a wonderful week! 🙂

    • I can’t imagine not having A/C! We had what was called ‘swamp coolers’ back when I was a kid. They had the straw filters, with water somehow flowing through? It wasn’t central air for sure, but I loved the smell when that straw got wet, and it cooled off the house.
Blessings for you and your family. 🙂

  5. Good tune! 🙂
It was only 82 today (I hate admitting that’s become ‘cool’ here lately) and so I weeded my yard and oh, I am so happy to be back in the AC!

    • 82 is a pretty good temp for the summer. We’ve had a break from it being so hot, and it is 74 here right now, and there was a small rain shower too! Of course rain makes the weeds grow, so it’s good you got to get rid of some. 🙂

  6. Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I am exactly like you in the heat. The a/c is a wonderful invention. And I really like your song choice. I also like that you commented on having a different theme song every day, because I think that could be the case for me as well. Have a wonderful day!

    • You’re welcome. It’s fun to answer questions. Glad you enjoyed the song!
We were thinking of ice the other day. It was before our time, but used to be some company would deliver ice to people, and they’d put it in their ice box to keep food cool. I’m glad we have refrigerators now, too. 🙂
