Song Lyric Sunday Theme for 6/24/18

***

Today, for SLS, Helen has asked for songs about dreams. Thanks so much for all the prompts each week, Helen!

I like having dreams, and remember more of them than I forget. I write them down in detail in dream journals (and I have a lot).

I’ve chosen two pretty old songs about dreams. I remember hearing both of them on the radio, way back when, and actually could remember the words to them, so I had to sing along. Enjoy!

“Dream Lover”, by Bobby Darin, was released in 1959, on the Atco label. It was written by Bobby Darin.

Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream, dream

When I want you in my arms
When I want you and all your charms
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Dream, dream, dream, dream

When I feel blue in the night
And I need you to hold me tight
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Dream

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day

Only trouble is, gee whiz
I’m dreamin’ my life away

I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream

I can make you mine, taste your lips of wine
Anytime night or day
Only trouble is, gee whiz
I’m dreamin’ my life away

I need you so that I could die
I love you so and that is why
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream, dream

    • Thanks, Ashley! They did have a lot of great songs, didn’t they! I don’t remember having a record or tape of their music, but heard them on the radio all the time. 🙂

    • Thanks, Sandee! I hadn’t heard them in awhile, either, but with the prompt of dream, they are the first ones I thought of. Funny how that works sometimes. 🙂

    • Thanks, Candice! Some of these older songs can really take us back in time. Glad you enjoyed these. I don’t remember hearing “Your Wildest Dream”, so will go look it up. 🙂
