Random Post # 18 – 3 Weird Things

Random Post # 18 – 3 Weird Things

Sometimes I just sit and think about things that are weird to me. Do you do that?

Here’s some random thoughts of mine…

  1. Finger Clicks – I use one of the mouse things with my desktop computer. When I press/click one part of the mouse it takes me to whatever I want to look at on line. So I was wondering just how many ‘finger clicks’ I’ve ever done in my computering history. It must be in the billions! And, my pointer finger that I use for this is still in good working order after all that ‘exercise’. 🙂
  2. Do you ever wonder about the cleaning product called SOS pads? Those steel wool pads that have some kind of soap embedded in them, are great for scrubbing stubborn, stuck on food off dishes and pans, or many other uses. The thing is, I’ve always thought the soap stuff was poison! I don’t know why. Maybe it is, well of course if you try to eat it, it is, but just to clean with and then rinse it off your dishes and hands, I figured it was still poison. I have to wash whatever it is over again with regular dish soap, just to get the poison soap off. 🙂
  3. Phone Tones – I think I’ve mentioned this before, about the tone/signals we get on our cell phones, when we get a notification of something. Especially in blogging, when I get a notice of a followed blogger’s new post, I get a certain tone on my phone to let me know. This can be pretty immediately, even if the signal is coming from another country. So…when I post something new, do you get a tone/signal on Your phone? It’s weird that you and I can make other peoples phones make a sound – just like that! 🙂

Anyway, just some weird things I think about. I have more, which I’ll do another time.

What are some weird things you think about? 🙂

Thanks for visiting! Peace ☮️

    • You’re right, Jim. We all have the odd thoughts now and again, maybe not really so weird, but just things I think about sometimes for fun. 🙂 Thanks!

  1. LOL. Fun ponderings, Barbara. Aside from all the intensely weird stuff at work (I work for the Fed… and the execs are beyond weird)… My dreams are what’s weird.
    Have a terrific Tuesday.

    • Thanks, Teagan! I’ll just bet there are some interesting things in your work, that make for some strange stories. And dreams, well I’m amazed at how weird mine can be at times, and wonder how does that even happen. 🙂

  2. I enjoyed reading your “weirdness”, Barbara. I don’t like the soap in SOS pads either. They leave kind of a film on things and on my hands, too, so I always re-wash with Dawn afterwards.

My phone makes noises for some notifications and not for others. It has recently started doing it for Instagram, though I don’t remember changing any settings. I don’t think it makes a noise for WordPress or anything else, other than text and Messenger.

I wonder if there is something on the computer that counts mouse clicks? That would be something else, eh?

There are all sorts of weird things that pop into my head, and definitely very weird dreams. Some aren’t necessarily weird to me because of who I am, but other folks would think they are weird or just downright creepy, maybe. Like, when I walked through a family cemetery, one in particular back in South Carolina, it felt like I was walking into a big family hug. I could literally feel their presence. They knew I was there and why and welcomed me. Funny thing is, this cemetery holds the remains of a way back grandpa who’s part of the family tree gives me a migraine every time I try to contemplate it. haha. I think I’ve shared that story with you before, about the father and son that married sisters (2nd marriage for the father!).

That’s all that comes to mind at the moment.

Have a blessed day, Barbara. 🙂

    • Thanks, Suzanne! Good to know I’m not the only one that has to re-wash dishes after using the SOS pad, and I use Dawn, too!
I barely know how my phone works except for photos and texts. I don’t usually change settings unless for some reason something stops working as usual. Then I go check it.
I love wondering about why and how dreams work. Little mini-movies to entertain us while we’re asleep? haha – Some can be really way out there. If I remember them I try to write them down.
Thanks for your thoughts on the weird stuff!
      Blessings for you, also! ❤

      • You’re welcome, Barbara, and thank you, too. 🙂 If I didn’t have the phone that I have, I never would have figured out that iPad sign in thing at the diagnostics place the other day OR the drink machine at the Burger King. That one really threw me for a loop!
I like studying about dreams, too. There was a free book on Amazon a while back about dreams. I think it was a Freud book, so I know it is bound to be a really interesting book.
I wish that mine wouldn’t entertain me so much while I’m trying to sleep. I wake up more tired than when I laid down. I sometimes write them down, but most of the time I forget them before I get to a pen.
I sometimes get poems and songs in my sleep, too. But, I guess they are just meant for me because I forget them before I can write them down, too.
Thank you, my friend. 🙂 ❤

      • All these new-fangled things these days. When I was in school no one even had a computer, and it wasn’t all that long ago that we got our first one. Now the phones are amazing, too. Oh, that drink machine? Is that the kind you have to push all kinds of selection buttons? I had to have my daughter show me how to use one of those, the first time I came across one! haha! 🙂 Have a blessed day, Suzanne. xx

  3. Okay, I’m with you on the SOS pads. I use them, too, and yes, they must be washed with regular dish soap after. Yes. So there, you’re weird, we’re weird, but we’re not alone! 😀
