A to Z Blog Challenge – Letter V

A to Z Blog Challenge – Letter V

Welcome to the 2018 edition of the A to Z Blogging Challenge!

All through the month of April, the challenge asks us to blog every day (except Sundays), and to go through the alphabet A to Z, connecting our posts to the letter of each day.

My idea for this time, my 5th to participate, is to showcase a book or two each day, and provide a tiny bit of information about them. These will not be a full book review, but just saying what it is about, and if I liked the book or not.

These books are mostly books that I already have on my shelves, and have read, or are on my to be read stacks. There will be a very few of them that I don’t already own, or have read.

I will also post a quote each day that has something to say about books, or reading.

Hope you enjoy, and maybe see a book or a few that you might want to read, too.

This was a hard letter to find a book for. I didn’t have any books still here that started with letter V, so had to look up some I’ve read in the past. I had to refresh my memory of what some of the details were on these.  (hopefully, I’ve gotten them straight)

The Vampire Lestat”, by Anne Rice is the second book in the Vampire Chronicles series. It continues the story of how Lestat becomes a vampire, and what he’d been doing since, up until the year of the interview, (Interview With a Vampire).

I read the whole series a long time ago, and loved every one.

“The Valley of Horses”, by Jean M. Auel, is the second book in the series of Earth’s Children. We find the main character, Ayla, has been exiled from her clan, (Clan of the Cave Bear), and she is alone on a journey to find the ‘others’ she has heard of. Meanwhile, the other main character, Jondalar, is on a journey of his own. They meet and begin traveling together, and have other adventures.

I read this whole series a long time ago, too, and they were so good. The only thing I didn’t like was that the books came out several years apart. But, now that they are done, it would be easier to remember what happened in each one, when starting the next one.
