Just Jot It January – Silence

Just Jot It January – Silence

#JusJoJan Daily Prompt – January 21st, 2018

Your prompt for January 21st, 2018, brought to you by the wonderful and talented Willow, is “Silence.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Willow at her blog, “Willowdot21” to read her post and say hi! Here’s her link:  https://willowdot21.wordpress.com/

I like silence sometimes. Usually the TV is on, right by my computer desk, but every chance I get I turn the sound to  mute. I like to hear the leaves rustling in the trees, and the birds tweeting better than some silly program on TV. I like to get up really early, when the house is dark, and enjoy some silence for a little while, as I’m reading.

Funny thing is, I don’t like complete silence at night. I have to have my sound machine going, tuned to ocean waves. I’ve always had some sort of noise at night, like a radio playing.

Oh, here’s a silence that always seems weird. When you have the TV going, the lights on, the air conditioner or heater on, and maybe people talking, going about their business…and the electric power goes out with no warning! It just seems so silent when everything shuts down. Everything and everybody comes to a stand still.

Well, I’ve been almost falling asleep sitting here trying to think of things about silence or silent. Here’s some:

  • Sounds of Silence (the song)
  • Silent Night (the Christmas song)
  • Silent Films/Movies
  • Shhhhh
  • Shush
  • Well, shut my mouth
  • Silent Majority
  • Silencer on a gun
  • Silence of the Lambs (movie)
  • Shut up
  • Stifel
  • Be quiet

And…this is all I have. I will be silent now.

Thanks for visiting! Peace }i{

    • I’m glad you found the earplug solution. I think I use the sound machine so I don’t hear my breath. I’d rather hear nature noises like the birds, or I even like the sound of the wind blowing, and not the TV blaring with those awful commercials! 🙂
