Charms # 8

***

Taking a look back at my charm bracelet, to remember what all the little charms were, and for what memories they bring.

***

These next 3 charms on my bracelet are from when we lived in Germany, back in 1972.

There is Furth, which is the town we lived in. It is in the state of Bavaria, and is right next to Nuremberg.

The 2nd charm is from Garmisch/Partenkirchen. It is a ski resort in Bavaria.

Last is one from Zugspitze. This is located by the town of Garmisch, up in the mountains. It is the highest peak in Germany, at 9,718 ft. (2,962 m). We rode a cable car up to the top, where there was a gift shop. We also walked out onto a frozen solid lake. It was so cold, I couldn’t even feel my feet.

Thanks for visiting! Peace }i{

  1. Love learning about your charms! Such precious momentos. We were in Germany 73-76. Hahn AFB. West of Frankfurt. The Base is now closed and is an airport. Great memories indeed. We took a trip to Garmisch while we were there. Just beautiful. I wanted to visit on my last trip to Munich a couple years ago but did not have time. Returning is on my bucket list for sure!!

    • Thanks, Kelly! There’s so many beautiful things to see in Germany, and even the old buildings and castles are fascinating. I’m glad we got to be there for awhile, too. Isn’t it funny that we never ran across each other before we were neighbors, since we have done so much the same things. 🙂

    • Thanks, Margret! That y’all were in Furth too is so interesting. It may have changed some since we were there, but I sure enjoyed it. I remember our address (it was in the town – Otto Seeling Promanade 8) 🙂 It was right across from a beautiful city park. 🙂
