Just Jot It January – Passionate

#JusJoJan 2018, the 4th – Passionate

***

This was for yesterday, Jan. 4th

The prompt word for this day is ‘Passionate’. It is suggested by Rosemary, and you’ll find her blog at : https://rosemarycarlson.com/2018/01/04/passionate-jusjojan-story/

Passionate…I don’t think I am passionate about anything. Sure I love all kinds of things, such as my family, pets, and my writing, but as the word passionate is defined, it seems to say a person goes overboard about the things they care about. Some words used were…powerful, intense emotions, strong beliefs, and easily angered. I would add being obsessive and zealous to that.

It’s good to have people and interests that you love. Of course it is. However, I think being around someone who is right up in your face, constantly pushing their ideas, and always talking about their interests, is really annoying. It makes me not want to be around them, because they seem to not care at all about anyone or anything except themselves and their ideals.

For myself, I’m easy going, want no drama, don’t get angered very easily, and am not ramming my way, down anyone’s throat (or in their face). Guess that makes me non-passionate?

So, that’s my thoughts on it.

    • Sometimes I think so, too. At least the use of the word passion/passionate. We can really enjoy and love all kinds of things, but to say you’re passionate about ‘everything’ kind of dilutes it.

  1. I am passionate and intense and definitely obsessive and probably zealous… BUT! I am far more interested in connecting to other people and getting to know what they like, how they see things, what they think. I know myself well, which is rather dull, and other people pique my curiosity!
For instance, you’re not like anyone else I know. You keep all the stories AND all the things. Real things, things that matter, like childhood diaries and charms from youth — and that’s so rare.

    • Aww, thank you, Joey! Maybe that’s what you could say I have a passion for…keeping the stories and the things! … I think it’s wonderful that you are able to express your passion for the people and things you feel strongly about. But you balance it out with your caring for, and wanting to learn about others. That makes all the difference.
