51 Weeks/51 Songs From the Past – Finale – and Just Jot It January – Memories

51 Weeks/51 Songs From the Past – Finale

51 Weeks: 51 Songs From The Past: Week 51: Paul McCartney & Wings – Mull Of Kintyre

This is the final week of Hugh’s challenge. I’ll be sad to see it end, but he has mentioned there will be something new coming up soon. Thanks for hosting, Hugh! I’ve enjoyed listening to lots of music during the year, some old favorites, and some new to me. It was fun to find songs to go with your prompt. 🙂

So, we are to find a favorite song that we’d like to hear for the New Year. I’m not sure if it is to be a song about New Year’s Day, or just a favorite of mine.

The song I listened to the most this year is the one I’ll go with. It was the favorite of mine for the year.

I know I’ve featured this song a few times on the blog, but I think it works for a New Year song, too. It seems to speak to the tragedy of Alzheimer’s, in that many memories are lost, but at times a glimmer of those memories may flash back to you. Also, that things may be different, yet there is always a new beginning. What I get too, is that it is the start of a brand new year, and a time to make new memories.

“The Bliss”, by Volbeat, was released in 2016, from the album, “Seal the Deal & Let’s Boogie”. It’s written by Michael Poulsen.

I’m also adding this post to Linda’s “Just Jot It January”. The prompt word for this challenge is ‘Memories’.  It has been suggested by Cage Dunn, and can be found here: https://cagedunn.wordpress.com/2018/01/03/if-you-want-to-be-heard/

    • You’re welcome, Hugh! I very much enjoyed taking part in your challenge of finding songs for the prompt, and reading about the ones you chose to showcase. Thanks so much for stopping by to hear the ones I chose. It did give me the chance to remember. 🙂
