Flower of the Day – Allium

Flower of the Day – Allium

These are called Allium, and are very tall. From the full photo I took this from, it was in my aunt’s flower bed.

      • Your mom’s garden pictures always make me smile. The allium I had, I didn’t plant. I was told by the woman across the street that she and the former owner of my house planted them some at her house, some at ours, when the house was built in 1962. They bloomed every year and I loved them. I don’t know how to plant them, which is why I haven’t. I’m not sure if they’re onion sets or fall bulbs. I’ll get around to it one day. πŸ™‚

      • That was a nice surprise, and nice of the neighbors to plant in both yards back then. Glad you like my photos. Wish I’d taken some. These were some I guess my mom took pictures of. I’m thinking the allium flowers come from a bulb? Probably you have to plant them in the fall.
