Question # 25
25. What is your hometown known for? In other words, what makes it special?
***
My answer:
What makes my hometown of Lubbock TX special and known for, would be different for everyone you asked. Here’s a few that come to mind, for me.
- Hometown of Buddy Holly, music legend. Buddy Holly Museum, statue, and gravesite
- Cotton producing region
- Ranching Heritage Center
- Wine production
- Friendly people
- Texas Tech University (Red Raiders)
- Prairie Dog Town
- UFOs – Lubbock Lights…documented sightings
I’m know there are many more interesting things to see and do around here, but for me these are some of the highlights of our city.

Prairie Dog Town sounds pretty cool. Is that something there in the town or the town’s nickname?
Thanks for playing along, Barbara. 🙂 Have a blessed day.
Prairie Dog Town is a local area set aside for the little critters. It’s a tourist attraction, and has been here forever. Here’s a link to their information. We enjoy going out there to see them. 🙂

That sounds like somewhere I’d love to visit for sure. I think prairie dogs are cute little critters. Who knows, maybe one would let me take its picture. 🙂
Thanks for the link!
They are so cute. They aren’t just in the Prairie Dog Town, though. They are all over the place here..any field or empty lot. We’ve had a few in the back yard. Yes, they love to sit and pose for pictures, while waiting for you to toss a little snack for them. I’ve taken a lot of photos. 🙂
Interested in the UFOs and prairie dogs! Any sightings yourself with the saucers?
I haven’t seen a UFO, but I’d like to, so I keep looking at the sky, just in case one flies by! 🙂
That’s a great record of specials, it looks like a great place to live. Thanks for sharing now I know a little more about Lubbock Texas.
I think it is a pretty good city. It’s fairly large, but has a small town feel. Glad you are enjoying hearing about it. 🙂
liked that picture….
I like it, too. Suzanne, the host of this challenge, chose that picture to head up the challenge. 🙂 Thanks!
