Happy September!

Here is a brand new challenge, brought to you by Suzanne, at McClendonvilla. It will be a question and answer challenge, lasting for the 30 days of September. Each day will be a new question. If you’d like to join in, just click the above link for the details!

Question One:

Were you raised in the town in which you were born? Where were you raised?

***I was born and raised in the same town, Lubbock TX. I lived in the same house up until I got married, when the mister and I moved away. He was in the Army, so we moved around a lot, all over the world, but since he retired, we are right back living in our home town.

Lubbock is known for being the home town of the legendary musician, Buddy Holly. There is a statue, and a museum dedicated to him.

Our college football team is the Texas Tech Red Raiders. They play their first game of the season this Saturday. I’m not much of a football fan, but I always want them to win.

There are a lot of things to see and do here, if you have a mind to.

I know there are more questions to answer, so that’s all for this one. 🙂

Thanks for visiting! Peace }i{

    • Thank you! I’m the same. I like to know where people are and where they’ve been I did enjoy reading your answer to this first question, too! Wishing you a fun weekend! 🙂

  1. Thanks for joining our challenge and for the shout out, Barbara! I think it is great that, after the army, you folks went back to your hometown. That is wonderful.

    I’ve never been to Lubbock. I bet that is a cool museum. 🙂

    Have a blessed weekend!

    • I’m glad you are doing another challenge! I liked the one last year, and now I like this one, too! 🙂 Yes, the Buddy Holly Center/Museum has a lot of his personal items showcased. It’s not large, but there is a gift shop with all kinds of memorabilia to buy. People come from all over the world to tour his home town, the museum, and pay a visit to his grave site. … Hope your weekend is going good, and y’all are drying out! 🙂

      • I’m so glad that you enjoyed it last year and are playing along this year, too. I hope to make it a yearly thing. I need to find a song for next year. Sometimes that is a challenge all in itself. 🙂 Not all of them lend themselves to 30 questions very easily.

        Thanks. The river has finally receded and we’re able to drive through town now. We were able to go into our friend’s store and, boy, what a mess this flood left for him. His store is pretty much a total loss. We’re going to try to help him rally and pray things work out to get him back into business by the end of the year.

        The only musician-related museum I can remember going to is Graceland and Elvis’s plane. I love museums of all kinds. Maybe one day we’ll make it to Lubbock to visit that one. 🙂

        Have a blessed day.

      • Glad all is drying out, but sorry for your friend’s store being so messed up. … I like so many blogging challenges, but wouldn’t even know how to start one. I’m too busy participating in the ones I do, as it is. Your challenge last year and this year are a favorite of mine! … I like going to museums, but we almost never go. Well, we mostly never go anywhere…haha! 🙂
