SOUL SOUNDS
I feel the sounds of quiet nights
Deep within my soul
I thrill to trills of cricket’s chirps
A symphony so bold
I listen to the stars on high
Pulsars emitting silent sighs
I hear breathing, soft breezes blowing
Our souls are all knowing

If I could just hear the stars…
It would be amazing! I have heard some recordings of deep space sounds from NASA, and the sounds are eerie and magical. 🙂
I feel the sounds of quiet nights
Deep within my soul
..I love these lines, so evocative
Thanks, Cynthia! There is something mysterious about the night time sounds, which I love to hear.
Ahh, those silent sighs…
Yes, we can learn a lot if we take the time to listen, even in the silence of a sigh. 🙂
Lovely poem, Barabara.
Thanks, Diana! There is a certain feeling you get when out under the stars. 🙂
One of my favorite things about warm weather is the sounds, pleading, of crickets. This is so moody, capturing those soul sounds perfectly.
Thank you, Victoria! Glad you enjoyed this one. The prompt of ‘sound’ was a good one. 🙂 We should all slow down enough to listen to the sounds of nature once in awhile.
This is so wonderfully pleasing… I love ‘soft breezes blowing’ and ‘our souls are all knowing’..❤️
Thanks, Sanaa! It is nice to close your eyes and let the breeze blow on you, while you are just in the moment.
I liked the idea of “feeling” the sounds of the quiet nights in your first line.
Thank you, Frank!
Wonderful take on the prompt. I also love the sounds of night…it’s a peaceful time when the frenzy of daylight activities calms and you can stare into the sky. 🙂
Thanks, Lillian! I agree it is a peaceful feeling. 🙂
Love the title, Barbara. Our souls are definitely connected to the sounds of the universe and nature. ❤
Thank you, Olga! I think so, too.
This definitely speaks to my soul…it’s just lovely.
Thank you, Gayle! 🙂
