I only recently heard the Disturbed version of The Sound of Silence and I love it! I’m not always fond of remakes of classics but this is definitely a good one!!! 🙂

I know! I first heard it on the car radio, and didn’t know who was singing it. 🙂

I am always surprised by how many people love Disturbed version of this song, including many people who aren’t in the band’s target audience Chills is right, it’s an awesome take on the classic…

Maybe it’s the way it starts out slow, then builds to add so much emotion. I don’t think the original was that way. I need to hear both, one right after the other.

Okay, I just listened to both versions. Maybe it’s the starkness of the b&w video of Disturbed version that give the song so much more meaning, at least to me. I always liked S & G’s version, but now it seems a bit bland, or monotone. It seems as if they had nothing invested in the lyrics, and other than it was a nice tune, we didn’t get much meaning from it, either.
