Thoughts of thanksgiving

We are still living

In these days when freedom rings

Make our voices heard

Through all deed and word

Free thoughts that thanksgiving brings

Strife and dissension

Misplaced attention

To negative slandering

Giving peace a chance

Could possibly lance

The wounds…and much healing bring

  1. I am so enjoying the positive tones of these alouettes that I’ve been reading. And yes, give peace a chance is an anthem that will never be dated and is especially poignant given our uncertain future. Thanks for joining in, Barbara. πŸ™‚

  2. Yes, thanksgiving has come round at just the right time! I like the way you have woven into your alouette those very important words ‘freedom’ and ‘peace’. I enjoyed the rhythm and the echo of John Lennon – yes, another day to remember is coming up – he was shot not long after the birth of my daughter.
