Today’s post is all about the Letter D. First up, we have… IMG_2341

D … is for DONOVAN

Donovan Leitch is a singer, songwriter who is still recording and performing today. His signature sound has been along the lines of folk, psychedelic rock, and pop, and on April 14, 2012 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His career has spanned the years of 1964 to present. A few of his better known songs include, “Mellow Yellow”, “Sunshine Superman”, Epistle to Dippy”, and “The Hurdy Gurdy Man”. “Mellow Yellow” earned a gold record for more than one million sales in the U.S.

Here’s Donovan’s song, “Mellow Yellow”

Next up, we have…

D…is for Dolls

Dolls are always popular, no matter what your age. From sweet baby dolls to play with, to creepy horror dolls that people collect, there are dolls for everyone. Some well-known dolls include the Madame Alexander Dolls, Barbie, Chatty Cathy, Troll Dolls, Russian Nesting Dolls, and even human sized dolls, used in hospitals for training.

I never collected any dolls, but have had lots of them over the years. I somehow have more than I realized here, after I got to looking around. Here’s a picture of them. 🙂

    • Thank you so much, L. G.! So nice for you to visit, and I welcome you! I always liked his songs, as I heard them a lot back in the 60s and 70s. Glad you enjoyed listening and reliving good times! 🙂

  1. I love the song, “Mellow Yellow!” I never knew who sang it, but I do now! Thanks!

I love dolls, too. I’m particularly fond of matryoshka dolls, but I love them all. I’m glad my girls have inherited my love for dolls. My inlaws have brought them some really neat ones from different countries they’ve visited.

    Happy a-to-z-ing!

    • Thank you so much for your visit and your thoughts! Glad you’ve enjoyed reading, and listening to “Mellow Yellow”! Dolls are so interesting, being there are so many kinds. My girls loved their Cabbage Patch dolls, and now my grand-daughter has one! 🙂 Happy A to Z to you, also!

    • Hi, Tony! He had some really cool songs, some a bit strange, and I sure liked them. I have an LP of his, and play it now and again. 🙂 Thanks for the link! 🙂
