Today’s prompt word is Clumsy.

Just Jot It January 31st – Clumsy

However, today is the final day of the challenge. This month of posting every day, has been so much fun! I’ve enjoyed thinking of things to write about using the prompt words (except maybe a couple), and reading what everyone else posted.

Thank you, Linda Hill, for hosting the Just Jot It January challenge. I’ll look forward to it again next year!

~

Clumsy = awkward in movement or in handling things.

I’m surprised it didn’t list my name in the definition, because yes, I am clumsy. If there is something to be dropped, tripped over, dripped, knocked down, it will happen when I’m around. And, I fall down a lot, sometimes for no reason.

I’ve always been clumsy, even when young. I have weak ankles, so had to wear special shoes (ugly) for years. Didn’t help with the clumsiness, though. Now, my feet, ankles, and knees get so stiff, I can barely walk sometimes, and feel stabbing pains with every step. People say I am worse than a toddler, since I could fall down any second. I tend to hold on to furniture, and walls when I walk around.

Stitches, I’ve had them, from being clumsy and falling, or being careless in what I was doing. Cuts from breaking glass, knives, and those exploding enchiladas, too.

If there’s something to bump into, I’ll find it. My head finds corners of cabinets, quite often. I bump into people at stores, so I’m always saying excuse me. I can’t walk in a straight line, ever. I tilt. That may be because I have vertigo, so things look wonky half the time. Tri-focal glasses don’t help the situation, either.

I spill, dribble, splash, and knock food and drinks over, wherever I am. I have to have bunches of napkins, and still I make a mess.

One spectacular fall I had once, was in the grocery store. I slipped on something on the floor, slid a ways, almost doing the splits, pulling the grocery cart over on top of me. What I slipped in was clear, liquid fabric softener. I was soaked head to toe in the stuff, but wasn’t really hurt, just sore, and continued my shopping. I smelled really good though 🙂

Well, I seem to see a pattern here, reading your posts. Are all writers clumsy? hahaha 😉

Take care, and see you next year for Just Jot It January! xo

AND

And, here it is late afternoon,

And, I have been trying to think of something to write, using

An…and, have come to the conclusion that I haven’t thought of ANything.

ANyway…here’s some words that start with the letters ‘an’…

Anxiety – I have it

Antiques – I like them

Animated – Sometimes

Annoying – Probably

Angel – Nope, not me

Angry – Hardly ever

Animals – Love them all

Any-hoo – That’s all I’ve got 😉

Oh, one more thing… I am in ANguish…I’m coming up on the end of a 2 book series. I’ve really loved reading these, and wish there would be more. 😦 Now, I’ll have to find ANother book to get interested in. What do you do when you come to the end of a book you like so much? Do you jump right into another? (if you’re like me, you have stacks of ‘to be read’ books)

Thanks, Linda, for ANother wonderful prompt! 🙂

JUST JOT IT JANUARY – # 29 – GHOST

JUST JOT IT JANUARY – # 29 – GHOST untitled

Today’s prompt word is Ghost. (Yay- it’s the word I suggested!)

Just Jot It January 29th – Ghost

~

A ghost is said to be the manifestation of the soul of a dead person, thought of as living in an unseen world. Some would say they are scary, that they haunt the places of the living, and do evil deeds.

I believe there are ghosts. I believe there are demons. But, they are not the same thing. I don’t think ghosts are at all evil. They are only trapped essences of the souls of real people who lived before. They only want to get someone’s attention, if they can. Sometimes they are a bit mischievous, by causing sounds, turning off or on electronics and lights, or knocking on walls, among other things.

I’ve never seen a ghost, but I’ve always been aware of them. They are everywhere, day or night, and it seems they must sense who is attuned to them, which I am. I pay attention, when odd things happen around me. Everywhere I’ve ever lived, I’ve come into contact with them, in one way or another. I’ve even caught an EVP (electronic voice phenomena) on tape, here in my own house.

I’ve written about many of the incidents I’ve experienced. They are all true. I invite you to read them. They are all on this blog under ‘Ghosts and all Weird Things’.

Here are a couple of links directly to two of my true ghost stories.

JUST JOT IT JANUARY – # 28 – SERENDIPITY untitled

Today prompt word is Serendipity, which means a happy accident or coincidence, and luck finding valuable or pleasant things that are not looked for.

I could have used my post from yesterday for this one, as you might have read. I baked my first ever cake on a Jan. 6th, then many years later, my daughter was born on a Jan. 6th. So there were lots of baked birthday cakes on that date over the years. It must have been serendipity for that to happen. 🙂

Today, though, all I can think of for the word, is the move by the same title, “Serendipity”. It’s one of my favorite movies, and stars John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale in this romantic comedy.
