reflection in car window

For Day # 22 of NaBloPoMo I had a couple of things I thought would be fun to post, but I couldn’t get them to work right. I’ll have to see what the problem is another time, and fine tune it (it has to do with media). Anyway, here’s my post for today…I call it Crazy Notes. I’ve done them off and on on Twitter, and to me they are funny. Maybe you’ll get a chuckle or two, also?

What it is, is I take lots of notes when I’m writing. Then, when I go back to proof-read before hitting publish, I write on a post-it note, all the spelling errors, left out words, and anything else I can fix. I hardly ever throw them away. Some are just regular every-day notes, too, like reminders to do something. These are my Crazy Notes…a jumble of things, which makes sense at the time, but later, reading them in random order…well, they sound so silly. 🙂

Turn Red valve to left…then turn 2nd Fuse thing Off…to Right! (instructions in case water heater goes off or something…don’t remember, now)

That doesn’t make sense on any planet in the Universe! (a direct quote from my husband while dealing with the cable company on the phone)

Icicles and the moon…tinfoil over heat vent on ceiling in closet…lookout window…rain…but icicles hanging from roof…pretty, dark and silver…

Ghost, can we go play?

Soon they were in the town. “Ya wanna hear?”

Texas Roadhouse…5:30?…Tues. Eve.

Down on you…It was kinda cool…

Weird phone calls in the night…

MWT…mornings…Heavenly Paws

Get E a B.D. present and card

Where do you like to vacation

Stopping at every one…don’t go to sleep, Ghost

Tiny things to write about…

Warning…4 in the morning…take me…bring it…spider in the woods…

That’s all for now…let me know if you like it, and I can do more soon!

Thanks for visiting! Peace }I{

NABLOPOMO – # 21 – BLOGGING AWARDSuntitleduntitled

Today’s 21st post for the NaBloPoMo blogging challenge, I’m accepting these two awesome awards that was presented to me recently. They are the Liebster Award, and the Infinity Dreams Award.

Thank you so much Bobbi, for nominating me for these two awards. Bobbi’s blog “Drawing on Words” is a delight to read, and can be found here … you should go see what all she posts 🙂

The rules for these awards are:

Thank the person who nominated you for the award, and link back to their blog.

Include the award logos on your post.

Nominate other bloggers that you enjoy reading.

Copy the rules onto your blog.

Tell 11 facts about yourself. (you can use these questions, or make up your own)

Here are the questions I was asked, and my answers:

  1. What’s the story of your blog’s name?

I chose the name of “Teleportingweena” because I love the idea of time-travel. One of my favorite movies is “The Time Machine”, and one of the character’s name is Weena. We also had a cat that was named Weena (Rowena). She sadly passed on, this past August. We always said she could actually teleport herself, because she’d disappear for hours. As an inside cat, there are only so many hiding places, and we looked everywhere. Then, Weena would suddenly re-appear in the last place we’d seen her, looking like she knew secrets of some other dimension. So, that’s why…”Teleportingweena” 🙂

2. Why did you start blogging?

I wanted someone, somewhere to read my stories. I started out on Blogger, and have lots of stories there, and my serial Fan Fiction Story, “Two Souls: Into the Fire”, which I add to three times a week. You can find them here Then, I started the blog here on WordPress, to do more things with my fiction, and to do the many challenges I take part in.

3. What was your favorite class in High School?

English…because I love words, writing, and we got to do essays in that class. Most people would groan when we were supposed to write one, but not me 🙂

4. Favorite Movie?

Well, the Time Machine (the original version), and…pretty much any movie that has rock music in it. Some titles…Dazed and Confused, That Thing You Do, Rock Star, Ricki and the Flash, Empire Records, and all the John Hughes movies of the 80s.

5. Favorite Books?

My favorite book is “Lost Souls” by Poppy Z. Brite (that is the book I write my fan-fiction on). Another favorite that I read at least once a year is “The Survival of Jan Little” by John Man, and I like reading series by the same author, such as all the Stephanie Plum novels, by Janet Evanovich, and all the Shopaholic novels, by Sophie Kinsella.

6. Weirdest thing you eat?

Burned meat. Very, very, very, well done, and better if burned. Any kind of meat. Also, some think this is weird, but I like to put ketchup on meat. 🙂 …A couple of other foods I have eaten, and would eat again are snails (escargot) yum in butter sauce, and fried frog legs (tastes like chicken) 🙂

7. What is your party trick?

I don’t like going to parties, so getting out of going sometimes is tricky. I have some silly excuses, sometimes, whether true or not. One was that I broke my tooth, and didn’t want anyone to see me! haha. actually that was the truth 🙂

8.  What 3 things would you take to a desert island with you?

My make-up. I don’t go anywhere without make-up on. I guess some food, because I have low blood sugar, and tend to feel faint if I don’t eat. And, my time machine, so I can get off that desert island as fast as possible 🙂

9.  If aliens invaded the planet, why would you be the 1st they should take?

Aliens would come to Earth to pick me up. You see, I was dropped off on this planet many years ago, by my fellow space travelers…to do research on this big blue ball you call home. … I am one of them, and it’s time to go back to my home planet. 🙂

10. Share 1 thing you didn’t understand about the world when you were a kid.

I never could understand how the Earth, or any planet could be so huge, and just be floating around in space. It boggles the mind to even think about it even now!

11. ??

There wasn’t an 11th question to ask, unless I missed it. Hmmm…guess I’ll make one up…

If you drive, what kind of vehicle do you have. What dream vehicle would you want?

We only have one…it’s an older, blue Dodge Pick-up. It only has a cassette player (which we don’t use), crank window handles you have to manually roll up or down, but yay, the A/C works! My dream cars would be… a classic Thunderbird, 2 door, powder blue w/white convertible top, or an IROC-Z Camaro… I’ve always loved these. 🙂

My nominations are as follows…there is no obligation to accept these awards, but just know I love reading your blogs!

A Simple Life

Writer’s Dream 9

Knocked Over By a Feather

NABLOPOMO – # 20 – BODILESS BOBNaBloPoMo_2015untitled

Today is the 20th day of daily blogging for NaBloPoMo…:)  Whew! So far, so good, as they say. I’m having fun thinking up things to post, and hope you all are enjoying the varied  subjects I’ve come up with. It’s true…I wander around in my time machine, never knowing myself where I’ll stop. Maybe I should make a wheel with a spinner on it? Anyway, this is one I’ve been meaning to write about for awhile, because …well…cats 🙂

It all started with Bodiless Bob.

I don’t know what he really was…maybe a Rabbit? At any rate, he lost his body somewhere along the way, and his cute little head just stuck around for ages. Then we got a cat, and Bob’s head became the cat toy of choice. The cat was happy batting him around, and Bob was happy being loved again, even with no body. Then, a long string became part of the playtime, and attached itself to Bob’s head. That was fun, and Bob didn’t mind. Eventually, the cat passed on (:() … Bob was lonely, again, and the dogs just weren’t the same playmates.  But, Bob wasn’t going anywhere. He waited patiently, until another cat came along. In fact, 4 cats came to live here, and Bob was in favor again. Now 2 of those kitties are gone, and one more is getting old, and don’t want to play much, but the youngest still likes ‘ol Bob. 🙂

Next was Long Green Strings. They began as a macramé project from some guy that visited from Alaska. He forgot to take these strings with him when he left (he was making a macramé belt), and we had no idea how to find the guy. So…Cat Toy!! and boy, did the cats love Strings! Still do, in fact. Wonderful to chase them around, and get tangled up in them for fun.

Stubbins was next. You know, those long plastic wands, that have a pretty feather on the end? Yeah, the feathers are long gone, but Cats didn’t care. They just loved the plain sticks. They’d go round and round chasing in a circle…:) Stubbins is Paolo’s very favorite still to this day!

Then, there were the twins, and their + 1 … Blue Louie, and Mel Gibson (who was green), and Blue Louie’s twin (who was green, too, and posed as Mel Gibson from time to time). They are actual cat toys, mice I think. They got lots of play for awhile, and have lived here through most of the cats.

Millie Cat…oh Millie Cat… a black and white Beanie Baby (I think) that one of the cats claimed as her own, to snuggle with. No one else was allowed near Miss Millie Cat.

Ribbon is just that…a short length of ribbon, brown, with green polka dots. This was a leftover piece from a baby shower diaper cake we’d made for my daughter. When Cricket came to live here, as a tiny fuzzball, this ribbon was her very first plaything, and she loved it. She is 6 years old now, and still loves to play with it every day! 🙂

Baby Drumstick is a cute little chicken ? drumstick. It’s an actual cat toy, and has been around a long time. It’s been played with, but isn’t a favorite…poor little chicken leg.

Ratina…yeah, Ratina is cool! Not sure if she was a real cat toy, but could be. A fairly large, fuzzy, gray rat, with a super long tail. This one was the other favorite of the kitty that loved Millie Cat. It was her’s and her’s alone. Many happy times with Ratina!

So, there you have the history of the Cat Toys. 🙂 There are lots more around here, but these ones are the special ones, according to the cats!

Here’s some pictures of them!

For Day # 19 of NaBloPoMo I’ve combined it with today’s “dVerse” poetry prompt We were urged to write a poem using the Florette style. There are several syllable counts for each line, and a rhyming scheme, also. You can find out more about the dVerse Poets here

Today, I was listening to the radio…my favorite rock station, and I thought I’d write something including mentions of the songs and bands that were played in the short amount of time I was driving somewhere. This is what I came up with. For fun, see if you can pick out the ones I used 🙂

A slice of moon…pie in the sky

Dark, sweet, and bright – a lovely lie

Crystalline stars…fire in the night

Shooting meteor streaks of light…I want to fly…

An Ozzy land of crazy trains,

How wild it is feeling no pains…

We’ll escape our own Earthly jail.

Let us blaze an amazing trail, without jet planes…

Shimmer and glimmer, steps of stairs

Shh…the klaxon now loudly blares

Board the Zeppelin…off we go

Through the milky way – we will blow fireworks and flares…

Must not put off our day of play

Across the Universe today

We’ll sail into the purple smoke…

Deep water on the hookah’s toke…let’s not delay…

Give a smooch of venomous bliss;

Alice warns of poisonous kiss…

Watch out for thorns on every rose,

Keep eyes open, please, do not doze or you will miss…

There may be Hale within the storm,

But to ride this life, we are born.

Yes, we’ll weather it without cease.

Sing songs of love – spread joy…with peace, we will adorn…

So, if you are a Freak like me,

Wave your flag in the air to see…

Forget the rain, enjoy the trip

We’ll be far outta sight, and Hip…our Souls are Free…

I had a pogo stick, and some stilts we’d all play on, too. I liked digging in the dirt, playing something or other with little cars…I had a cool yellow road grader toy. I had a bicycle, so rode that all around the neighborhood. 🙂

This 17th day of blogging for the NaBloPoMo monthly challenge finds me trying something new. This is another ongoing challenge from Cee, and it’s called the Odd-Ball Photo Challenge. You can find out all about it here

What you do is find a photo you’ve taken, or take a new one, of something that is a bit different. It can be anything…maybe some things that don’t normally go together, or a funny something-or-other, or something you’ve arranged (set up). Maybe you have some photos that you really like, but they don’t fit into any certain category…use them here if you want to. 🙂

So, here’s 3 that I’ve had awhile. I’m always looking for unusual things to take a picture of, just because it’s strikes me funny, or is weird, or yes…odd-ball. These were all taken with my iphone camera. I’m in no way an experienced photographer, but I’ve always liked taking pictures. 🙂

This first one is a sign at a fast-food place. It’s over the ‘drive-thru’ lane. Ok, let me ask you, why do you need to ‘watch your head’ if you’re ‘driving’ through in your car? I know it means not to drive under it if your car or truck is too tall, but why say HEAD in such big letters? haha…this cracked me up, so naturally, I had to take it’s picture:) Oh…the clearance is 8′ 6″… now really…what person would be that tall or taller?

This next one is of two of the same number. The metal sign with 807 E. Wabash, is from the first house I ever lived in. It’s hanging on my wall, right over my clock. It just so happened I noticed the clock and the sign were in sync. It just happened that way, I didn’t set it up.

The last one is a sign on a supermarket basket loaded down with boxes of assorted sodas. I took this just a couple of days ago. I thought it looked funny just sitting there, waiting to be taken out to the little gas station by the grocery store. They had to make a sign for it. 🙂

This is Day # 16 of the month long NaBloPoMo challenge. As a weekly feature on here, I take part in Cee’s Share Your World challenge, where she asks fun questions, and people answer them. It’s fun! You can find out how to participate and read other entries here .

Q1 – What type of popular candy do you not like to get?

I don’t want any candy that has nuts or seeds in it. That’s not true…I ‘want’ them, I like them, but I can’t eat them anymore (I don’t want to end up in the hospital again) …

I don’t want any candy that is sticky, that is hard to get out of your teeth, and I don’t want anything sour, or sugar-free. Oh…and no ‘fake’ chocolate…ugh…those cheap kind that leave a bad aftertaste … just no…

Anything else I like…favorites being  Jr. Mints, Butterfinger, and Kit Kats 🙂

Q2 – What do you feel is the most enjoyable way to spend $500?

Shopping for anything, and going out to eat anything 🙂

Q3 – Where do you eat breakfast?

At home or out? At home I’ll either be at the computer desk, reading while eating, or on the couch watching tv with food on a tv tray. If out, we go to IHOP, McDonalds, Whataburger, or The Egg & I 🙂

Q4 – Would you rather ride the world’s longest zip line, or bungee jump from one of the highest ones in the world?

Neither one…not ever… I’m not at all sporty, or adventurous in outdoor activities.

P.S. – Is it just me, or has WordPress changed up this place where you write a new post? I don’t like it…it’s weird.

Day # 15 of NaBloPoMo and I suppose I’m feeling silly, so I figured a silly post would work for today. I looked up a bunch of movie titles, and made up a story using them. Here’s how it turned out …

Harvey was taking a sightseeing tour one Night at the Museum in Philadelphia. As he viewed a life-sized diorama of a cemetery, with a large Tombstone, he heard an eerie voice. It was a Ghost, relating some disturbing news. It seemed The Man With One Red Shoe had captured a monkey, and was trying to start an Outbreak with him.

“What is the matter with The Jerk?” Harvey said, aloud. He suddenly had a vision of some Gorillas in the Mist, down in Brazil, who were enraged at what the man was doing. They were so close to Bringing Down the House on the man, but needed back-up help to stop him.

Harvey knew he had to do something, to save that little monkey, and the world. He Summoned, by text message, Donnie Darko, the Bounty Hunter, and his Army of Darkness, and begged them to go down to Brazil in order to stop the man.

Donnie Darko, and his Army of Darkness agreed to help, and he was Gone in 60 Seconds, to go on this mission of Saving Private Ryan (the monkey’s name) from this tragedy. Along the way, his army of Young Guns marched with him, down Revolutionary Road. He told them the Ugly Truth of what was going on, and they would have to stop the man by using Necessary Roughness as their weapon.

It was a long journey…it took them 9 1/2 Weeks to reach the area. They kept marching From Dusk til Dawn without stopping. When the army got there, it took only 8 Seconds to The Hour to stop the man. They’d gone all Raging Bull, kicking him all the way Back to the Future where he was never seen again. The monkey, and the world was saved.

Today is the 14th day of blogging for the NaBloPoMo challenge.

I’d like to take this time to thank all the wonderful people who have followed me on this blog.

I’ve been blogging since February 20, 2014, so…a little less than 2 years. I really had no idea what I was doing on here in those early days. Some days, it seems I still have no clue. It amazes me every time I push that blue publish button, that it actually works!

According to the stats page, there are now 201 awesome people, who have been kind enough to follow. That is some kind of milestone for me, when I figured there wouldn’t be anyone out there who would even read my posts. I appreciate each one of you who took the time to visit, to follow, and send comments my way. Hopefully, you’ve found a post or two that you’ve enjoyed reading.

I don’t know that I have a certain ‘niche’ on here. Most of the things I write about are just what I’m interested in at the moment. I have no helpful hints, and nothing to sell, but hope I’ve entertained you with a laugh or two, or gave you something to think about. Hope you haven’t gotten too bored with all the challenge posts I do. I like all kinds of things, so I suppose this blog is basically a variety blog. (if anyone has suggestions for what I should write about, just let me know, and I’ll try) Comments are always welcomed, too.

Again, thank you so very much for sticking with me, while I continue to learn things about blogging, and hopefully giving you something entertaining to read. 🙂

NABLOPOMO – # 13 – “VERTIGO”NaBloPoMo_2015

Today is Day # 13, and I’m posting in a poem form about Vertigo, and panic attack. They are conditions I’ve had for many years. It’s strange, but I’m used to it.

Vertigo – When a person feels like they are moving, when they are not. Often feels like a spinning or swaying movement. It is typically worsened when the head is moved. Vertigo is the most common cause of dizziness.

Panic attack – A sudden feeling of acute and disabling anxiety, heart-pounding fear…hard to breathe…a feeling like your dying or going crazy.

I don’t drink, but I’m drunk

I don’t drink, but I’m drunk

I haven’t got time to whine in some wine

I don’t drink, but I’m drunk

I don’t spin, but I’m dizzy

I don’t spin, but I’m dizzy

I stumble and reel, now how does that feel

I don’t spin, but I’m dizzy

I have trouble saying my words

I have trouble saying my words

I start and I stop, my thoughts they do hop

I have trouble saying my words

I bump into things, I’m a klutz

I bump into things, I’m a klutz

I knock things down, all over town

I bump into things, I’m a klutz

I can’t look far, up or down

I can’t look far, up or down

The room starts turning, and I’m left learning

I can’t look far up or down

I must get out of this place

I must get out of this place

My face turning red, I think I am dead

I must get out of this place

I know this panic won’t last

I know this panic won’t last

Deep breaths are a lie, I start to feel high

I know this panic won’t last

I have vertigo, I’m not sick

I have vertigo, I’m not sick

I have to calm down, I feel like a clown

I have vertigo, I’m not sick

I talk myself out of this funk

I talk myself out of this funk

To my relief, the episode’s brief

I talk myself out of this funk

Stare at the picture…it seems to move!
