NABLOPOMO – # 30 – LAST DAY-LOOK BACKhintergrund-719

Today’s post for NaBloPoMo # 30 is the last one of the challenge. I’ve had lots of fun coming up with something to write about and post on here. Some days were easier than others, but I’m happy to say I did finish. Congratulations to everyone who participated!

I’ve had the chance to read lots of your posts this month, and the only regret is not having had the time to read more. I still plan on visiting more of your blogs, as long as the list is still available.

A big thank you to everyone who took time to visit here, to comment, to follow, and for all the ‘likes’! Each one of you are appreciated so much. Thank you to the NaBloPoMo hosts, and to  Ra at Rarasaur for hosting the NanoPoblano team Peppers.

I hope everyone has gotten a bit of entertainment from reading what I posted this month. I know it was a pretty random mix of topics, from short fiction, poems, art, and music, along with my thoughts.

Next up, for my blog, is ??? I’ve been doing these month long challenges for quite a few months in a row. I do love them, and if I find another one that interests me, I’ll be on board again. Until then, I think I will take some time to re-do the way this place looks. After almost 2 years, I’m tired of the Pink! I love the theme, but I want to try out something new. So, when you visit here again (and I hope you will), don’t be surprised to see what crazy things I’m trying out. I hope to find something I’m happy with, going forward. Don’t hesitate to leave your thoughts on what you see. I just hope I don’t mess it up too bad 🙂

So, I’ll leave you today, with a high-five, and job well done, for everyone! Happy Writing!

~

Thanks for visiting! Peace }I{

NABLOPOMO – # 29 – IT HAS TO HAPPENNaBloPoMo_2015

It is beginning to be the holiday season. Black Friday sales have happened already, and there are many more special sales to come in the month of December. One thing that has happened, is some radio stations have been playing Christmas songs. One even has changed it’s format to all Christmas songs/all the time up until the big day. Now, I like hearing some of these songs, but not all the time, so I don’t tune in to that one.

There is one song that I do like, and until I hear it, it is just not the Christmas season. I have to hear it randomly, which means, I can’t actively search for it. Most times I hear it while I’m walking through a store, over their speakers that play music while people are shopping.

Some years, I hear it really early, sometimes I don’t hear it until right before Christmas Day. Only then, does it feel right. I know, that’s probably weird, but that is just me. So, today I did hear it…early…at the grocery store! 🙂

Of course I have to sing along…wherever I hear it, because it’s my favorite.  Join in if you want to!

~

Hope you enjoyed listening/singing 🙂

Do you have favorite holiday songs?

NABLOPOMO – # 28 – WHAT AM I READING?

NABLOPOMO – # 28 – WHAT AM I READING?

For the 28th day of the NaBloPoMo challenge, I thought I’d show you what I’m reading at the present time, what I plan on reading next, and two of my all time favorite books. And…bookmarks! Do you like to use a bookmark? I didn’t used to, but now they have such interesting ones, I like using and collecting them. I also make some of my own.

The first two pictured books, are those I’m currently reading. I usually have more than one started at the same time, and leave them in different rooms. These I’m about half-way through them, and they are good. They are by a couple of my favorite authors. I’ve read the whole series of the Shopaholic books, up to this one, which is the newest. And the memoirs of Jen Lancaster are ones I’ve followed for a long time.

IMG_1780The next photo shows the two books I’m planning on reading next. Janet Evanovich writes the Stephanie Plum series, and I’ve read them all up to this one (I’m a little behind, as there are three more I don’t have yet). The next one I just got for my birthday, recently…I’d not heard of it before, but it looks good.IMG_1781

The last photo shows the two books that are my all time favorite. I’ve read them every year, for many years, and I write my fan fiction story as a continuation of the Lost Souls book, by Poppy Z. Brite.

The Survival of Jan Little, by John Man, is a true story, and is amazing.

NABLOPOMO – # 27 – “SHARE YOUR WORLD – # 47”

Standard

NABLOPOMO – # 27 – “SHARE YOUR WORLD – # 47”sywbanner

It’s time for another addition of “Cee’s Share Your World”. You can find the particulars of all the fun challenges you may want to take part in here

Share Your World is a weekly question and answer challenge. Here’s the ones for Week # 47…

Q1 – In your native language, which letter or character describes you best? why?

For me, it would be the ellipsis, which I like to call the dot-dot-dot … It is defined as an omission of one or more words in a sentence, and a sudden leap from one topic to another. I use a lot of them (probably too many) in my writing. In fact, that’s essentially the way I talk, too. I do jump from topic to topic, using sentence fragments to get my thoughts out. I think it may be a by-product of having ADHD…a million ideas at once…

Q2 – What is your greatest extravagance?

Buying books and art/craft/office supplies. I cannot resist getting more. New books, used books, little notebooks with cute covers of all sizes, drawing and painting supplies, pens, markers, stickers, papers…it’s all good 🙂

Q3 – Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? how frequently do you do either?

Unless I’m doing household chores, or walking around doing shopping, I’m mostly just typing and writing 🙂

Q4 – List at least 5 things that make you laugh.

I always am laughing at the funny things my grand-kids say and do.

My cats are pretty funny, when they’re not begging for food, or sleeping.

Any kind of bloopers, in print, or when someone (even myself) mix up words.

The book, by Jenny Lawson (the Bloggess) called “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” … I had to put it down several times while reading it because of laughing so hard, and tears were blurring my vision! Now, I want her new one! 🙂

Post the rules on your blog, and nominate 3 others (and let them know)

This has been a fun challenge, and I’d like to thank Yinglan again for nominating me. She writes a wonderful blog, and can be found here

~

EDGAR ALLAN POE – January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849…

Poet, Writer, Editor, and Literary Critic

By this quote it would seem that you should pay attention to your day-dreams. Allow yourself to wonder, to wander through your dreams, without distractions of modern technology. Just be quiet, sit still, and let your thoughts drift through your mind. You’ve heard of free-writing…this is the same, just let your subconscious lead you, for a change. You will be surprised at what comes to mind…maybe silly, maybe an answer to a problem, and at the very least, an interlude of peace from the bombardment of everyday trials. I would say day-dreaming is good for your soul.

I would like to thank Yinglan, for nominating me for this challenge. You will find her blog, “A Simple Life” here

This is a quote from George Bernard Shaw. (July 26, 1856-November 2, 1950) He was a Nobel-Prize and Oscar-winning Irish playwright, critic, and socialist.

I like this quote because I do feel people in general see the things, and happenings in their world, each in their own unique way. Some are satisfied with the surface appearance of what their life is like, or maybe ask a rhetorical ‘why’, but dig no deeper. Then there are others, who are not satisfied with the status quo, so let their curiosity lead them down many other pathways, to find out more.

~

If you would like to participate in the 3 Quotes in 3 Days challenge, I nominate you.

Thank the person who nominated you, and link back to their blog.

Find a quote to post, and write a little about it.

Nominate 3 others.

NABLOPOMO – # 23 – 3 QUOTES IN 3 DAYS

NABLOPOMO – # 23 – 3 QUOTES IN 3 DAYS

For today’s post on NaBloPoMo – Day # 23  I’ve been challenged to do the “3 Quotes in 3 Days Challenge”. For the next 3 days, you find a quote, and write a little something about your thoughts of it. Here are the actual rules:

Choose a quote, once a day, for the next 3 days. Write a little something about it.

Thank the one who nominated you, and link back to their post.

Nominate 3 more to take the challenge, and let them know they were chosen.

~

I’d like to thank Yinglan, who writes on her blog, “A Simple Life”. You can find her here

~IMG_1764

The quote is by Allen Ginsberg – 6/3/26-4/5/97 – was a writer, one of the poets of the ‘beat’ generation, and an activist of the counterculture.

His quote, to me, would seem to apply to everyone. No matter what you are passionate about in your life, or your work, you should not hide your true feelings. In other words, be yourself…don’t fret about what other people think.

~

The 3 Quotes in 3 Days is open to anyone…

If you’d like to take this quote challenge, I nominate you.

Have fun finding quotes you like!

Thank you for linking back to this post! 🙂
