DEAR DIARY … JULY 3, 1961

GE DIGITAL CAMERA

Dear Diary,

We went through some towns.

***

Guess I was having too much fun seeing the passing scenery as we traveled, to write a long entry. So, we were still in New Mexico, where we did stop by to see Billy the Kid’s grave. That was in Ft. Sumner, NM. I’m not sure how long we stayed around that area, but the grave marker was not fancy, and was surrounded by a short iron fence. Later, on our trip, we passed by what is called Ship Rock, NM. For some reason, my grand-ma was excited to be seeing this. I believe I’ve read that the tall rock formation was created by volcanic means. The next highlight, I suppose, would have been the 4 corners area, as it is called. This is where the corners of 4 states touch…New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, and Arizona. I don’t remember if we stopped anywhere near there, but the grown-ups kept talking about it. Anyway, those were some places we passed along the way to Idaho.

Thanks for visiting! Peace }I{
